Five Generations
of Custom Tailoring

Bespoke Tailoring in New York Since 1913

Alan David Horowitz, the grandson of legendary retailer Moe Ginsburg, comes from a long line of clothiers. He entered the family business in 1992, continuing a legacy that spans five generations. In 2021, his daughter Shelley joined the company, carrying that tradition forward.

Today, Alan David Custom commissions individually crafted bespoke garments. Our unparalleled fit is built on the expertise of skilled custom tailors and master craftsmen. These artisans transform your measurements and craft your bespoke garments with astonishing precision. The basted try-on step is included for all new clients. It allows them to assess the fit and comfort of the garment in its unfinished form, allowing for precise adjustments before final assembly.

Alan David is proud to offer garments that are 100% hand-sewn in the USA through our exclusive partnership with Oxxford Clothing. These pieces feature hand-basted shoulders, perfectly matched stripes and plaids, and thousands of meticulous hand stitches — each one crafted with uncompromising attention to detail. These masterpieces embody bespoke at its highest form and set the standard for all Alan David collections, each tailored to the same exacting standards of precision and fit.

For over a century, those who demand the finest have placed their trust in Alan David Custom.
