At Oxxford Clothes, patterns are drawn by master cutters, renowned worldwide for their extraordinary skill. This heritage of precision ensures a flawless fit from the very first garment, continuing a tradition rooted in handmade craftsmanship in Chicago.

Hand Padded Lapels & Collars

Hand padding is a term to describe the rows of hand stitching along the lapel that connects the canvas to the front chest/lapel. The stitching takes place while the lapel is rolled, giving the chest more structure and the lapel more shape. This artisanal operation creates form that cannot be undone by creasing or improper dry cleaning, a technique preserved since Oxxford’s founding in 1916.

2,950 Hand Stitches

Each suit is individually cut by hand. Plaids and stripes are matched at all seams. All coat buttons are made of horn. Buttonholes are hand-stitched. Collars and lapels are hand-stitched with 2,950 stitches or more to ensure shape and balance. Of the 165 steps involved in producing a suit jacket, 33 involve pressing. After a suit is completed, the final pressing by hand takes over an hour. Only natural fibers sourced from the finest mills in Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom are used, ensuring the most luxurious finish available in bespoke tailoring
