Achieve a Perfect Fit Through Basted Fittings
To ensure a superior fit, Alan David employs a traditional basted fitting. At this stage, the garment is temporarily assembled with loose basting thread, allowing clients to try it on while adjustments can still be made. This process makes it possible to refine posture, balance, and shoulder line, while also incorporating basic changes such as shortening sleeves
The basted fitting provides assurance that every measurement is precise and that the garment will deliver the highest level of comfort.

Custom Trouser Construction
Alan David commissions full bespoke trousers. The impeccable craftsmanship we offer is the work of old-world master tailors and craftsmen, creating the finest custom trousers New York has to offer.
All custom trousers are cut with a soft yet sturdy canvas waistband for optimal comfort and anti- roll durability.
Every cuff or completed bottom is strengthened with heel guards, guaranteeing a sharp crease and providing confidence that the bottoms will not come undone.
Every part of the trouser is hand-pressed throughout the assembly process. Pressing between operations ensures the fabric will not shrink, bubble or pucker as it is worn.
Finally, all trousers are lined with a rubber gripper on the inside of the waistband. This gripper gently grasps the shirt and holds it in place as the person stands up and sits down.
